Workshop with Partners from the Ukraine and Poland in Erfurt

The aim of the project is the exchange of experience. Future cooperation in the frame of the project “VIA REGIA - Cultural Route of the Council of Europe” shall be enhanced and previous achievements shall be discussed in order to form a common basis for further work based on the achievements of the Ukraine and Polish partners. Any actor contributes to the workshop by giving information on own works. Historical backgrounds and actual interests will be discussed and further interests will be gathered as the basis for joint activities in the future. As a preparation the participants gather the interests of the local actors in their own region and act as representatives for their specific local interests.

The workshop mainly deals with the history of the 20th century between German, Polish and Ukraine people within the corridor of the international road VIA REGIA. It focusses on the different views and evaluations of historical events which are little or even unknown and accepted within the other countries. The project is part of a comprehensive exchange of knowledge and information comprising different historical and actual social and cultural developments as well as practical information about places of a joint European memory.

Topics are:

  • The course of the road VIA REGIA within the Ukraine,
